Press journey to HELLA in East Tyrol
Bright sunshine underlined the picturesque
mountain panorama of the Lienz Dolomites. Not a bad start for a trip to our client HELLA Sonnen- und Wetterschutztechnik GmbH in East Tyrol. Journalists from eleven specialist magazines accepted the invitation from 28th
May to the Austrian municipality of Abfaltersbach where HELLA’s administrative and operating headquarters are situated since 1959. After a guided tour through the production, the long-standing owner Franz Kraler provided the journalists with an entertaining presentation of the history of HELLA. The insights offered by the young building physicist Robert Weitlaner in the HELLA lab were yery interesting, too: There the company is working on new ideas for the sunscreen of the future. Currently research is being conducted at the predictable control of daylight. The further program included product presentations, individual talks and the practical assembly of HELLA TRAV®frame. The day ended with a friendly get-together in a traditional Tyrolean cottage.

It consists of a mighty steam bent frame that gives way to thinner, weave-able strips manipulated to twist and flow into a whirlpool of texture and shape. This three-metre high wooden sculpture made out of American maple and cherry was showcased in the dramatic archway in front of the Museum of the Order of St John in London’s Clerkenwell neighbourhood from 19th to 21st May 2015.
